
Marradi, ospitalità, sagre e turismo itinerante
Perched
on the slopes of the Lamone river valley, Marradi welcomes the warmth
of its hospitality to the tourists who come wandering in the old
village. Centrally
situated between the towns of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna along what was
the Gothic Line, Marradi today can experience the historical and
cultural tourism in contact with nature and discover the ancient
traditions attractions of this land border.

Today
there are many facilities that offer pleasant stay during which you can
take an extensive network of trails to explore monasteries, towers,
castles and beautiful landscapes. The
Abbey of Santa Reparata dating to the eleventh century, which houses
magnificent fifteenth-century painting attributed to the Master of
Marradi, Hermitage Gamogna, Barberry Abbey, the Abbey of St. John and
Rock of Acerreta Castiglionchio that with its size of the sixth century dominates the landscape of the valley, certainly worth a visit.

The old
town attracts visitors showing an urban fabric similar to the Tuscan
cities of art, difficult to find in the Apennines, made of narrow,
cobbled streets and squares, surrounded by elegant palaces result of the
transfer of important families in Marradi such as noble and Torriani Fabroni. The
living city is the beautiful Piazza The Scalelle, which overlooks the
communal porch, Fabroni palace and the church's suffrage.
A
fascinating course of the Lamone River running through the center of

the Documentation Center on Chestnut, a unique example in Europe, but

today identified as "Good Marron Marradi PGI, one of the top of the
Mugello. The

production of the same make it a real local landmark, so that during the
weekend of October this product always present in the local cuisine

older people, is dedicated to the famous "Chestnut Festival" and
visitors to drop in times and places far is set up a romantic steam
train that connects Marradi in Florence, for an unforgettable journey
through the Apennines.

Marradi

and the municipality, from the month of May with the "Festival of Bread"

by tomatoes, jams, chocolate and cold cuts, introducing the lively
