Four centuries, four ways to make a buiding alive:
monastery, crown place, factory, manor house. All of them left its heritage:
the pictures of the mani church, the monks’ furniture, the majolica kitchen,
the oly paraments, King Joachim Murat’s room, the entertainment room…
As you walk through the stone archway into the main
courtyard, you feel as though you have stepped back in time. The owners have
kept its original seventeenth century structure in the main building, the
hermits’ cells, the wine cellar with original barrels, jars and wine presses,
the original kitchen completely tiled with Vietri ceramics. 4 double bed rooms, appointed with worn period
furniture. All rooms have access to a private bathroom newly renovated. At disposal of
guests: Bed and Breakfast or half board, guided tour through the Monastery and at the Villa Giusso’s farm, natural
and photo walking, opportunity to see and partecipate to the farm activities. The
farm grows fruit and vegetables but first of all olive trees. You can take a
walk on the path along the ancient wall or
through the grape vineyards and olive groves. Younger
visitors enjoy the farmyard and the friendly little animals. In Autumn, it is specially interesting to come, see and partecipate to the vintage and to the olives pick-up but all along the year there is something to do in the fields: in season you can pick fruit and vegetables, helpi to milk the cowes, feed rabbits and chickens. Try the homemade
jams, pickled vegetables and of course have a taste to olive oil !
